CyrusOne Energy Manager in Dallas, Texas

Job Purpose:

This position will report to the Vice President of Project Development and be responsible for maintaining and establishing programs associated with the procurement of transmission, distribution and energy supply for the CyrusOne Portfolio.

Essential Functions :

Contract for Transmission, Distribution and Energy Supply for the Portfolio

  • Reserve distribution capacity and assist with easements as required

  • Contract for construction of substations and transmission extensions

  • Collaborate with the utilities to minimize timelines associated with substation builds.

  • Support contract review and negotiations for transmission, distribution and energy supply

  • Recommend and procure energy supply for the de-regulated portfolio

Power Load Forecasting

  • Create/update monthly site capacity model

  • Perform PUE and capacity analysis for strategy and direction of capital deployment associated with utility capacity

  • Analyze customer growth patterns by region to provide data backed procurement strategies.

Site Selection

  • Analyze power situation at perspective sites (utility, tariffs, capacity, geography, etc.)

  • Analyze short and long-term capacity potential for selected sites

  • Regulation Research

  • Tariff impact analysis

  • Mock bill analysis

Client Services

  • Review and recommend contractual Metered Power Language

  • Provide Metered Power Templates for customer contracts

  • Research and respond to general power questions for clients

Demand Response

  • Manage and recommend Demand Response Programs

Commissioning/Construction Usage Analysis

  • Calculate commissioning usage for capitalization

  • Review tariffs to recommend best methods for mitigating ratchet impacts

  • Initiate, maintain and execute commissioning strategies and programs to reduce ratchet impacts

  • Resolve utility billing issues and errors

  • Support various projects as needed

Minimum Requirements :

• Fluent in financial modeling

• Experience with tariff analysis, utility contract reviews, and energy supply procurements

• Strong understanding of the transmission and distribution grid and the ability to analyze its supply

• Experience managing multiple projects and collaborating with internal staff, utility providers, consultants, and external stakeholders

• Experience with communication including communicating commercial, regulatory, market, and contractual details to all organizational levels

Experience Skills :

• 3 to 5 years’ experience with transmission, distribution and energy supply procurement

Education :

• Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline
